The Mango Tree

I sat on the mango tree
My favourite place it has now come to be,
Yet another teaching came my way
When I closed my eyes in humble pray.
“Practice silence even while speaking
Practice Stillness even while moving”

That was my lesson, my teaching for the day

The full force of its meaning was yet to hit me
As I sat in contemplation on the beautiful mango tree.
Days went by and I was lost in work
The power of words had once again taken control
But this time I was determined to test the silence in words

So as I spoke with total eloquence
I detached myself from content and context.
An electric wave immediately engulfed me from head to toe
A sensation so rare that I had to go further to explore
I gave into it to test its force,
Only to discover that I was the source.

And even as I continued to speak to everyone around me
I experienced the silence that was louder than thunder before rain.
I made a humble bow to friends around as a warm smile spread over my lips
My pace hastened as I ran to my favourite hang out – the mango tree
To receive my next lesson on how to BE !
